Belly Dancing Information
Lotus Tribal Belly Dancing
belly dancing?
hey, i am thinking about trying out belly dancing, and i was just wondering if those of you who do belly dancing can tell me a little bit about it. is it a celebration of women’s curves-how do you like it? any kind of info is appreciated. thanks.
Belly dancing is the american term. It is a combination of many types of dance from so many different countries. You can learn from a teacher who will teach fusion, which is a combination of the most popular, or you can be more specific, Persian, Egyptian, Lebanese, etc. Middle Eastern Dance has been around for centuries, but made popular (and sexual) by Hollywood in the 20’s. There are many types of dance that are a celebration of women. One type is done in the women’s homes when men aren’t around. They toss their unbound hair around and just have fun. I absolutely love it. I’m 33 and I’m starting to perform. My 11 year old daughter is taking lessons now and did a dance in a very modest outfit (much like one Esmeralda wore in Hunchback of Notre Dame) for her 4H talent show and won 1st prize. There are so many different websites you can look at to find out more about middle eastern dance. Try a web search of belly dance origins. You can also go on youtube.com and look up belly dance and find all sorts of great clips. Look up belly dance instruction on some basic movements to see if you might like it. Good luck and have fun!

Hi, well, I like a lot bellydancing, and what I can say is that bellydancing it´s a type of dance of the zone of all Arabia I think which is somehow contradictory because of it´s culture. It is notorious in it´s thinking, they are a culture in which they follow, in many cases, strictly their traditions. For example, the clothes that they use are commmonly long, and usually bellydancing it´s danced with very few clothes to make this dance more sensual. Well, I hope that I could help you in some way. Bye and good luck

couldn’t have said it better myself, fiery cowgirl. She’s right. Do some research and take some classes! I did a few years ago and now I am a semi pro dancer. Definitely find out about tribal dancing too… that’s a lot of fun to do! I LOVE IT!!! and I’m sure you will too.
