What are the benefits to belly dancing?
Has anyone taken belly dancing before? Does it reshape your body?
I took it for 6 months.
I don't know about the re-shaping your body thing, but I felt muscles the next day I never knew I had!!
It definately tones your muscles, and it looked like my waist got smaller, and my stomach was harder.
It was great exercise and I would suggest it to any woman, not only for that, but it gives you a sense of well-being, power, and sexiness that you can't get from anything else.

Belly dancing is good for….guess?….your belly!
It helps to tone it and shape, and will probably give you that nice flat stomach.
Please answer my question!

I imagine it would tone you up over time. A class would probably be fun.

Belly dance works on so many levels and our natural, energetic and celebratory style provides a holistic approach towards well being, integrating all the spiritual and physical aspects.Society pressures by way of images of narrow stereotypes of perfection has created a culture of both bodily self dislike and fanatical extremes in terms of diets and mind numbing exercise regimes. (It is rumored that Britney Spears does a thousand crunches a day). But we are developing a new style of Belly Dance that is energetic and Celebratory in character that can instantly turn "works outs" into "pleasure outs." We can prove to you that you can excel no matter what your size, age, experience may be.

Health and belly dancing
The benefits of belly dance are both mental and physical. Dancing provides a good cardio-vascular workout and helps increase both flexibility and strength, focusing on the torso or "core muscles", although it also builds leg strength. Many belly dance styles emphasize muscular "isolations", teaching the ability to move various muscles or muscle groups independently. Veil work can also build arm, shoulder, and general upper-body strength, and playing the zils can build strength and independence of the fingers. Belly dance is suitable for all ages and body types, and can be as physical as the participant chooses. As with starting any new exercise routine, people would be wise to consult their doctor before starting a belly dance regimen. It's also important to talk with the belly dance instructor to find out the level of difficulty in the classes. The practice offers mental health benefits including an improved sense of well-being, better body image and self-esteem, and the generally positive outlook that comes with regular, enjoyable exercise.

I was there , in lots of belly dancing classes, and competitions and what is funny that most of the best trainers and designers of belly dancing are men not women( i saw them dancing even better)
