What are your thoughts on belly dancing?

In 2 days, me and my mom are going to start a belly dancing class together (I am 13). She brought it up a couple of days ago, and we both thought it would be fun. We both like the graceful way they move their bodies and their beautiful costumes. We are doing a class together, so it is like a mother-daughter thing. I am actually looking forward to it, which surprises me, because I have always laughed at the thought of belly dancers. So, I was just wondering, what does everybody else think about belly dancing?

I really enjoy Belly Dancing. Honestly, it is an AMAZING work out.

When I first started, the first 10 minutes of Belly Dancing hurt worst than the first time I did an hour of Hip Hop Abs.

It takes a lot of muscle control to do the dances properly, and gracefully.

I hope you have fun!

i started bellydancing when i was 14 years old, and it’s the best!! you’re going to love it, don’t get discouraged, you’ll probably feel awkward to begin with. Just loosen up and dig it!!

I absolutely LOVE belly dancing. I started at fourteen and am now seventeen, and I have continued to stick with it. (I actually have class tomorrow.) There is just so much to say regarding the dance, that I don’t know where to begin. The flexibility for creativity, the different rhythms and many styles (regional/cultural), the awesome music, the beautiful costuming, and how fun it is to actually dance; I love it all. Be open and try to learn as much as you can. I hope you enjoy the classes! :-)
