Belly Dancing Information
Lotus Tribal Belly Dancing
What do you think about belly dancing to blackeyedpeas?
I like the song Boom Boom Pow and I told my belly dancer friends and they all said that my solo should be dancing to that song. I am not sure how that would look. I don’t to look funny dancing to a song that is not middle eastern. What do you think?
As a fellow belly dancer I think it’s possible to dance to any song, but sometimes the two styles don’t always mesh, ya know? Belly dance and Shakira go hand in hand not only due to her personal background, but because her music has a tribal beat.
I think keeping your audience in mind is also important. Usually audiences expect to see belly dancers dancing to Arabic music and are a little disappointed if you’re dancing to moden/hip hop/pop, etc…
There are SO many cool/pop/upbeat songs in Arabic (I’d be happy to share some titles) but maybe you could try digging one up!
GOOD LUCK!

As long as you can move your belly to the rhythm and beat of the song, you should be okay no matter what song you choose.

I think it might be hard to dance to, if you can move your belly to the rhythm to the song it might work.
Good luck!
